I count my blessings I found this when I did otherwise I am not sure how I would be coping today.
Prior to finding the Aware Parenting Babies course my daughter was absolutely terrible at napping during the day. I would spend so much time rocking, patting, shushing and singing to her to get her to sleep and resettle after every sleep cycle. This repeated throughout the nighttimes also. I was so exhausted and felt as though I could not catch a break.
When she breastfed she would also be on and off constantly and always sought the breast when upset (not that I realised this until afterwards).
Searching for a solution I stumbled across Helenas webinar on facebook and it was there I became hooked on Aware parenting. Allowing my daughter to cry in arms and release all her emotions, stresses and tension resulted in her sleeping for 2 hour blocks at nap times and lengthy blocks at night. Her feeding improved drastically and reduced some of the wind problems she also had.
I have since endeavoured in more research on this style of parenting and absolutely love it! From the bonding perspective, psychological perspective and both the physical and emotional perspectives.
